ما يتطلبه Kenya

Childcare in Kenya is a devolved county function under the Constitution and the Children Act 2022, and the Nairobi City County Child Care Facilities Act 2017, with its recently finalised regulations, requires a certificate confirming that all employees have completed first-aid and safety training before a facility can be registered. Other counties, such as Kajiado, enforce similar licensing, and centres operate under staff-to-child ratios that leave little room for delay in an emergency. First-aid certification is therefore not optional here but a genuine condition of opening and running a facility.

Epinephrine auto-injectors are not readily available across the country and can only be obtained through importation, and no rule obliges a childcare facility to keep them. The best protection is therefore a caregiver who can recognise the signs of a severe allergic reaction quickly, call for emergency help without delay, and give any doctor-prescribed medication — with the parents' written consent — stored safely and out of children's reach.
